Help us respond to humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan as thousands flee fighting
More than a quarter of a million people have been displaced in Afghanistan by recent violence. Thousands of people are living in makeshift camps in Kabul, seeing the capital as their last safe refuge.
Two in three – or more than 13 million – children in Afghanistan are in desperate need of life-saving aid, according to new UN figures. That’s an increase of more than a third since the start of 2021 as the country descends into one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
There are millions of people who are going to starve, and there is winter coming, and the whole social system collapsed,
We are providing emergency food assistance and tents, among other essential items, to newly displaced refugees, prioritizing humanitarian aid to widows and orphaned girls.
We are also raising funding to help stop child marriages. Families are forced to sell their daughters’ to the highest bidder as they can’t afford to take care of them.
- Food Insecurity: Food shortages are dire, according to the World Food Programme (WFP).
- Homelessness: Makeshift camps have been established on scrubland on the outskirts of the capital, while many others have reportedly been sleeping in abandoned warehouses and on the streets.
- Child Endangerment: About 72,000 children are among those fleeing to the capital in recent days, according to Save the Children.
